FRESH – Fish REaring and Stress Hazards
FRESH is a Collaborative project between the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU, Departments of Animal Environment & Health and the Department of Animal Nutrition & Management) and the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, at the University of Gothenburg. The main objective of this project is to improving fish welfare in commercial production systems
Within this project, I am taking part in the sampling of the animals and the measurement of health and welfare parameters. For instance, I took part in a study investigating the impact of the occurrence and severity of cardiac abnormalities in rainbow trouts reared in different systems found in Scandinavia; sea cages, lake cages and land-based RAS (1 publication). I also took part in a study where we used biologgers to measure heart rate in shy and bold rainbow trout (1 publication).
