Sustainabuoys

The aim of this project, developed in the third phase of the MIRAI, is to manufacture low-cost, sustainable smart buoys to measure water quality parameters in low-trophic aquaculture farms. In this project, Our team from SWEMARC in Gothenburg (Dr Kristoffer Stedt, PhD student Mica Andersson and myself) collaborate with the team of Prof. Han Soo Lee from Hiroshima University, namely Dr Manuel Soto Calvo and PhD student Zach Williams who are the mastermind behind ‘BOB’ (Biophysical Ocean Buoy).

You can follow live the water parameters measured by BOB in the Yasura bay in Japan here, while we are working on testing it for Swedish aquaculture. Stay tuned for future developments!
