Optimal culture conditions of wolffish sp. in RAS: NOMACULTURE
Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Gothenburg, Sweden
The overall aim of the NOMACULTURE project is to develop a sustainable strategy for Swedish marine aquaculture, with an emphasis on promising high-value species, the European lobster and the two wolffish species. In this project, I am mainly responsible to establish optimal growing conditions for the two wolffish species (common and spotted).
Congratulations to my friend and colleague James Hinchcliffe, who successfully defended his thesis “A circular economy approach for sustainable feed in Swedish aquaculture: A nutrition and physiology perspective” on November 15 2019, which include our work on wolffish farming protocols. Stay tuned in 2020 for more publications to come!
We were very happy also collaborate with the NORD university in Bodø in the project of Helene Rønquist Knutsen that successfully defended her thesis ‘Growth and development of juvenile spotted wolffish (Anarhichas minor) fed microalgae incorporated diets’, including one collaborative paper on spotted wolffish nutrition, on March 27 2019.
